Tuition / Coaching
Experiencing and learning how to play Flat, Lawn Green Bowls at Norton Bowling Club can be arranged in a variety of ways for prospective members.
Firstly, apply for a temporary membership*, enabling you to have short-term accompanied use of the grounds and equipment
> enrol on a 6-week Coached Bowling Course – usually held on Monday evenings from 6.30 – 8.00pm (the 2019 Course is from 13th May to 17th June);
> attend up to 4 free Taster Sessions accompanied by our Coaches – available every Tuesday during the Season from 2.00- 4.00pm at the Club’s informal roll-up afternoons;
> if you have a friend who is a Member willing and able to teach you, come with them for your 4 free Taster Sessions**. (Members may also bring guests paying Green Fees on up to 4 times per season for each guest).
Tuition and skills development sessions are also available on a private, group or one-to-one basis for which there may be a charge.

> or come and talk to them on a Tuesday afternoon when one of them is usually present;
(Experienced Bowlers who are considering joining Norton Bowling Club and who do not need further tuition may try the facilities out by arrangement through the Coaches or any Committee Member).
Requirements – Footwear – whilst preferably proper bowling shoes – soles must be flat and smooth with no heel.
Trainees, new and prospective members may have use of the Club’s spare shoes, bowls and green equipment for all their practice sessions.
**Please note that for administrative and insurance purposes the temporary membership condition applies for all Coaching and Taster Sessions.

2019 Coached Bowling Course dates – Mondays 13th May to 17th June from 6-30 – 8.00pm.
